Unit 3 blog

I would rate my physical well being an 8. I exercise regularly and eat healthy for the most part. I do have my days where I eat junk. A goal that I can set for myself to improve my physical well being would be to start incorporating different exercises rather than the same ones I do most of the time because I am a creature of habit. If I do something different, I can not only see the difference but I can feel it too.

I think my spiritual well being is about a 6 but I think as this term moves on, that number will get bigger. I can tell just from the past few weeks that my spiritual well being is improving. I feel better about myself. A goal that I can set would be to go buy a relaxation CD and listen to it more than just once in a while. These relaxation exercises have really helps my spiritual well being.

My psychological well being could use a little help because I would say I am about a 5. Two years ago when I got out of the Army, I wanted to take a month off and just relax. Then I got the idea of going to school. So I did. The first 6 months were great but then I hit a financial issue and needed to get a job. That was when my stress level rose a little. As time went on and I got a promotion with more responsibilities and deadlines, and as school went on the classes were getting harder and harder, I actually debated taking some time off because I was about to my breaking point. I'm going to blink and February will be here and then I will be finished. A goal that I can set to help with my psychological well being would be to continue school and not give up because I have made it so far already. After school is done is when I'm going to buy myself a Kindle and read the books that I want to read instead of what I have to read for school.

This weeks relaxation exercise was really interesting. I have heard of the different colors representing certain things. Listening to the man talk about what each color did, I could picture the different colors of light coming out of my body at each different spot. I thought it was beneficial especially with letting go of some of the stress from last week. I feel refreshed and ready to face another week of work, school, and personal life.

  1. Working and going to school at the same time is very frustrating, stressful, and can sometimes be too much for a person. I am lucky to not have to work and attend school full time, but my previous college career I had to work so I do know it gets to be a little much at times. I felt that I was losing time for myself and that is something I need a lot of. You have a wonderful goal of not giving up. You can do anything you set your mind to, just don’t let it stress you out to the max where you feel you lose time for you and lose yourself in general. This goal is beneficial for me, my clients, and probably everyone – to train the mind to tell you that yes; you can do this and don’t give up.

  2. Hi Melissa,
You seem to have a good plan going. I am glad that you decided to stay in school. Before you know it, you will be on to another phase of your life. You mentioned about getting a relaxation CD. I have the same idea. I think that it gives a better access than listening from a computer. Keep up the good work.

  3. I forgot to tell you how relaxing the background of your page is. I find green to be a very calming color
